GAME DAY – Kickoff at 7pm
It's gameday! Wherever you are watching the game, we hope you stay safe and have fun. Whether you’re back at home with your family, or in your dorm, know that we’re all one big FSU family.

Tailgate Tips

Tailgating Safety Tips

While our usual programming would be provided in-person 2 hours before kick-off, our current focus is placed on engaging students virtually. Part of this includes providing suggestions on how to celebrate gameday safely, while still having fun. Here are some things to keep in mind when planning your gameday experience.

  • Catch up with friends, family back home, or classmates across campus by hosting a virtual watch party!
  • Limit your physical interaction to a small group of people (10 people or less). If you have roommates or family members in your household, try to plan a day within that group! Of course, wear your mask if you interact with anyone outside your home, whether you’re dropping by the store or fueling up your car before gameday.
  • When possible, host your get together outdoors. The airflow will be better and you’ll have plenty of space to spread out, turn on the game, and socialize safely!
  • Keep your grill clean and your hands cleaner! Keep that hand sanitizer around, and trade those high fives for fist bumps.

The Garnet & Gold Tailgate is a Division of Student Affairs (DSA) sponsored program revolving around the fall football schedule at Florida State University. The TRUE Seminole Tailgates are held prior to most home football games. The tailgates start 2 hours prior to kick–off and are alcohol and tobacco free to encourage students to limit engaging in high–risk behavior and to provide a safe space for students who participate in game day activities. The TRUE Seminole Tailgate initiative was started in 2007.
